Tourist Guide North Conway
North Conway, a village in the eastern part of Carroll County, is situated in New Hampshire. Located in the centre of Mt. Washington Valley, the region lies in the United States. The village has a population of around 2,100 inhabitants.
Characterised by an extreme climate, it experiences extremely cold winters, mild summers and a fair amount of rainfall. July is the warmest month of the year; January, the coldest.
Initially inhabited by the local Abenaki tribe, the village was formerly known as ‘Pequawket’. The village was then named after Henry Seymour Conway in the 1860s.
Music, dance, painting, handicrafts, metalwork and jewellery-making have always been treated as significant cultural elements. Tourism is one of the major sources of economy.
