The town of Salem is located in Rockingham County, New Hampshire, United States. It is a centre for marketing and distributing, many colleges and some of the most famous recreation attractions. First inhabited in 1652 the town was the part of Methuen, Massachusetts, also called "Methuen District" till 1736. The Colonial Governor Benning Wentworth incorporated the place as Salem in 1750. The Policy Brook and Spicket River drain the Salem.
On the western boundary is the Lake Canobie, on the north is Arlington Mill Reservoir and in the southeast is the World End Pond. The summit of Gordons Hill located at an altitude of 380 feet is the highest point in Salem. As per the census of 200 the total population of the area is 28,112. The city developed as a part of Greater Boston’s suburban area after 1950’s.
The average temperature in July is around 84 degrees while in the month of January the lowest temperature is in the range of 13 degree. The city gets an average precipitation of 43 inches in a year.
