Tourist Guide Asbury Park
Asbury Park is a city located in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States, on the Jersey shore. The city was incorporated as a borough on March 26, 1874 but was later incorporated as a city on March 25, 1897. Geographically the city has location coordinates as 40˚13’21” north and 74˚ 00’4” west. It is located at a height of about 6 meters above sea level. The city covers a total area of about 1.6 sq miles of which 0.3 sq mile is covered by water and the rest 1.3 sq miles is covered by water. As of the 2000 census the city has a total population of about 17,577 individuals with a population density of about 14,290/sq mi. The city’s maximum population belongs to the Black origin (67.11%25) followed by White origin (15.77%25) and a little percentage of mixed origin. The city is renowned mostly for its rich musical history. It is ranked as the sixth best beach in New Jersey in the 2008 Top 10 beaches contest organized by the New Jersey marine sciences consortium.
