Boardwalk Hall is a world-class entertainment venue, known for high profile concerts, family shows and sporting events. The Historic Atlantic City Convention Hall, now commonly referred to as the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall was opened in 1929. This Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Landmark on February 27, 1987. The Hall is an arena which serves as a primary convention center in Atlantic City having 10,500 people for hockey, and can accommodate over 17,000 for concerts. The design of the restoration and rehabilitation process identified many challenges that needed to be addressed in order to transform the building into a modern day special events center.
