Bridgewater Township is a township which is located in Somerset County in New Jersey. Originally, this township was created in 1749 and was incorporated as one of the 104 original townships of New Jersey’s in 1798.

As per the United States Census of 2000, the township had a population of 42, 940 people. However, it has had an increase in population growth with 4.37 percent as compared to 2009 population of 44,408 people.

Bridgewater Township gets 46 inches of rain and 27 inches of snowfall each year. The number of days which has measurable precipitation is 115 days. Overall, there are 206 sunny days each year. The month of July is high with 86 degrees and the month of January is low with 20 degrees.

As per the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 32.5 square miles, of which 32. 5 square miles is land and 0.1 square miles is water. The township is relatively flat terrain, and the north eastern portion of the township is quite hilly with the Watchung Mountains that passes through the township.
