Clifton is a city situated in Passaic County in New Jersey. Clifton was incorporated in 1917 by an Act passed of the New Jersey Legislature. This city is located 10 miles to the west of New York City.

As per the 2000 census of United States, the city had a population of 78,672, out of which 30,244 were household people and 20,354 were families who were residing in the city.
