Oak Tree Pond has a historical significance in the past of this place. The Revolutionary War battle also known as Battle of Short Hills was fought in the year 1777 and is considered to be afailed attempt by the British Army to destroy the Washington’s American Army in New Jersey. But after years of appeal the town ship was able to purchase five of the six wooded acres.
