Edison: Attractions and more...

Edison has a large Jewish community right next to Highland Park. This township has a growing Indian community and also a number of temples which serve the religious needs of the community. The Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha has a Hindu temple on Woodbridge Avenue which is worth visiting. Some of the visiting places are the Clara Barton Downtown area, the Durham woods, the Edison Landfill and the public libraries. There is also a facility of Bookmobile from the library service.

There is also the plant of the Ford Motor Company which one can visit and even the Edison station located in south Edison.  The Camp Kilmer which is a World War II era army post was located partially in what is now Edison. There is the Oak Tree Pond which is a site of a minor battle of the American Revolutionary War. The Oak tree road is known for lots of Indian stores and restaurants. One can also visit the Thomas Alva Edison Memorial Tower and Museum which is worth visiting in Menlo Park while in Edison.
