Tourist Guide Hackensack
Hackensack is a city which is situated in Bergen County in New Jersey. It is also the county seat Bergen County. It was informally known as Hackensack and officially named New Barbadoes Township until the year 1921. This city is situated almost 12 miles to the northwest of Midtown Manhattan.
The first inhabitants of the area were the Lenni Lenape Native Americans who were known as the European settlers as the Delaware.
As per the US Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.3 square miles of which 4.1 square miles is land and 0.2 square miles is water.
The population of this city was 42,677 people as per the 2000 census. The United States Census Bureau of 2006 estimates that the population was 43,671 people.
