The city is the second largest city in New Jersey with a population of 241,791 inhabitants and a total land area of 21.1 sq miles.
The city is a major industrial and commercial center.
The port area makes it an important distribution and transportation center as well.
The city has numerous warehouses, oil refineries, railroad shops, and plants manufacturing electronics, textiles, chemicals, petroleum, cosmetics and more.
The city experiences a humid subtropical climate where the summers are warm to hot and humid and the winters are cold and mild. Spring and Fall are unpredictable and can vary from cool to warm.
Snowfall can be expected from November to March.
