Keansburg is located in the east-central part of New Jersey. It is a small community in Monmouth County in New Jersey.

Keansburg is considered one of the popular destinations among tourists throughout the world. The place is named after John Kean, a U.S. senator who established first post office over here.

 Earlier the area had a mixed population that included Dutch, English and Scottish who earned their living with farming. The other name of the town was Tanner’s Landing in early 1700s. Tanners Landing served as a major port for this place.
Keansburg had an estimated population of 10,732 according to Census 2000.

You can visit Keansburg during summers where you can experience a warm climate whereas the winters are very especially in the month of January.

Since farming on the land of Keansburg proved to be successful, the town was given the name as Land of Plenty or “Waackaack”.
