The Montclair Art Museum preserves, collects and preserves the American and Native American Arts. There are also innovative exhibitions and such educational programs which interpret and even explore the relationship between the two evolving artistic traditions. Overall, the museum focuses Native American and American Arts from the 19th century through the contemporary period. The museum was established in 1909 and the building was opened in 1914.
