Piscataway Township is located in Middlesex County in New Jersey. The name, Piscataway is derived from the original settlers of this area, who were European people. The name Pisgeu means ‘dark night’ and awa means ‘place of’. First settled in 1666 by the Quakers and the Baptists, Piscataway got formed in 1666 and incorporated in 1798.
