Elizabeth Cady Stanton lived from 1868 to 1887 in the Elizabeth Cady Stanton House in Tenafly. She worked for the removal of domestic servant’s household duties. She died in 1902. She was a women’s rights activist who married Henry Brewster Stanton in 1840.The above house was declared as a National Historic Landmark in 1975.
