West Orange is a township in central Essex County in New Jersey. It connects the South Mountain Reservation. This township was formed as a township in the year 1863 and was reformed in 1900. West Orange was initially a part of the Newark city till 1806. After its incorporation in 1872, it was fragmented into small communities, and West Orange came into conception in 1862.
As per the 2000 census, this township had a population of 44, 943 people. By 2009, the population estimates to 43, 501 people.
