Coronado State Monument houses remains of ‘Kuaua Pueblo’; wherein Spanish explorer has been thought of having spent winter between 1540 and 1541; hunting for ‘Cities of Gold’. It happens to be adjacent to ‘Coronado State Park’ on Rio Grande. Restored kiva, ‘sacred’ chambers (normally off limits to non-Indians), has been kept open for visitors.
