Los Alamos in Spanish means “The Cottonwoods” is a small town with a population of 11,909.

The entire city is geographically divided into two parts one part is the townsite or the hill and other being the White Rock.

The Los Alamos National Laboratory is located in this town which was established to undertake Manhattan project. Los Alamos has many county offices on the townsite of Los Alamos and it is an incorporated communtiy.

A beautiful city with breathtaking mountain scenery, diversified wildlife, a number of museums and a great place for outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, camping, golfing, hunting and cross country skiing etc. Los Alamos is nice place to explore the diverse cultural and sightseeing activities in the entire of New Mexico.

This city is best known for the classified atomic research which took place in 1940’s and surrounded to the north by the Santa Fe National forest and on the south by Bandalier National Monument making it a lively community and great place to visit.
