Tourist Guide Roswell

Seventy five miles to the north of Carlsbad is this small town of Roswell which is the county seat of Chaves County. With a population of 45,297 this city is renowned because of an alien spaceship that crash landed near to the city.

The commander of the near by local air force base issued a press statement announcing that wreckage had been recovered of a flying saucer though this was denied the next day on claims that it was a weather balloon and so the speculations kept running in the press.

In the year 1997 the 100,000 X-Files fanatics landed upon Roswell for a six day festival marking the ‘ Incident’s’ 50th anniversary it was then the US government revealed to the public that the errant weather balloon crashed while monitoring the atmosphere for proof of Soviet Nuclear tests.

However, imaginations further stirred by the TV series Roswell High, and also UFO theorists remain unconvinced. A peculiar town in which even the lampposts look like alien heads and the local shops windows are painted with alien murals.
