Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge
This is located at the point where the Chihuahuan Desert meets the southern plains close to the Pecos River. Spread over an area of 24,536 acres the Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge was set up in 1937 providing habitat for the thousands of migrating sandhill cranes and waterfowl. This is known for its diverse flora and fauna.
Roswell Museum and Art Center
This center houses works of regional artists like Peter Hurd and Henriette Wyeth. The Roswell Museum and Art Center features artwork by New Mexico contemporary artists and modernists displaying largest array of artifacts.
International UFO Museum and Research Center
The main aim of this International UFO Museum and Research is to make the general public aware of all aspects of the UFO phenomenon. The exhibits include a lot of information on Roswell’s 1947 UFO crash and all the aspects involved with the incident.
Bottomless Lakes State Park
The first designated state park in New Mexico which actually has several small lakes bordered by high red bluffs. Tourists can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, scuba diving and camping.
