The IAIA museum is dedicated to advancing the discourse, knowledge and understanding of native art. Opened in 1962, it is listed in the National Register of Historic Places with its Pueblo Revival style. The museum is referred to as the “National Collection of Contemporary Native American Art,” with its collection of 7,000 works of art from more than 120 Native American nations. It is the only museum in the US that is devoted solely to the exhibition of contemporary American Indian art forms. The collections include sculpture, jewelry, drawings and many more.
