Santa Fe: Attractions and more...
The heritage of this beautiful city can be reflected in the various museums and art galleries. The former are located at Museum Hill, while the latter can be found mostly at Canyon Road.
Santa Fe is deeply rooted in religion and tradition. Visit the Loretto Chapel with its ‘Miraculous Staircase’ (which is quite unique because unlike other spiral staircases anywhere, this has absolutely no support in the centre). You will also see many Baroque-designed and modern sculptures of St. Francis in the city, and more so at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi.
Also visit Echo Rock (a high amphitheatre where you can catch amazing echoes) or photograph ancient Anasazi ruins and petroglyphs at the Chaco Canyon National Park.
Before leaving, make sure you visit the Rodeo de Santa Fe, which usually takes place in June and treats you to a plethora of cowboy events. The chilli-cooking contest is also a tasty add-on.
