There are lots of outdoor adventures to be found in the Taos area, including whitewater rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, and in the winter skiing at Taos Ski Valley. Taos Mountain outfitters and Mudd and Flood are two general outdoor equipment retailers in the town, and are both located in the historic square area. Other shops in town specialize in whitewater sports and biking. Beautiful sunsets, inspiring nature, exhilarating outdoor sports, regional cuisine, and creative lifestyles abound in Taos.
