The Boldt Castle was an ambitious project of the owner of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel and the Bellevue-Stratford Hotel, Mr. George Boldt. He wanted to build the castle for his wife Louise Kehrer Boldt. The G. W. & W. D. Hewitt firm was engaged to build the castle but the work was stopped in between on the death of Boltd’s wife. The castle is accessible by Alexandria Bay; Gananoque, Ontario; Rockport, Ontario; and Ivy Lea, Ontario through a ferry.
