Auburn city is located in the Cayuga County in New York, United States of America.   The city is also a Cayuga’s county seat. Before the American Revolution the place was the part of Iroquois territory. The city was home to the Tuscarora Tribe and was originally called Ahsku.

In 2000 the population of the city was 28,574.The town was renamed as Auburn in 1805 the year when it was declared the county seat. In 1848 it was declared as the county seat. Towards the north side of the city is Owasco Lake whose stream flows towards north across the city.

The city spans over an area of 1.3 square miles. The January is the coolest month with a temperature as low as 12 degree Fahrenheit while July is relatively hot with the highest temperature reaching 81 degree Fahrenheit.  The Auburn Double days minor league baseball team is the home town team of the Auburn city and is supported Auburn community.
