Bronx can be described as a county located on the northernmost side of ‘5 Boroughs’ of ‘New York City’ and the latest of 62 counties within New York State.
Even though Bronx is the 3rd-most populous county all over the US; around 25%25 of land on its part has been open space. With explosion of once-rural population in 19th and 20th centuries, Bronx received several German, Irish, Italian, and Jewish immigrants at that time.
Almost the whole of Bronx is located on Northern American Mainland. Hudson river happens to separate Bronx on western side from Englewood Cliffs, Tenafly, and Alpine on ‘Bergen County’, New Jersey.
As of census conducted in the year 2000, population of Bronx was 1332650; with its density being 12242.2 per sq. Km. Almost 30%25 of total population was under the age of 18. Moreover, the ratio between females and males was found to be 100:87. Around 10%25 of total population consists of people beyond the age of 65.
