Dumbo is an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. This is a neighborhood situated in the New York City. It has two sections, one Manhattan and another Brooklyn bridges. This neighborhood is a part of Brooklyn Community Board 2. Until 1890s, the west side of the neighborhood was known as Fulton Landing. In 2007, the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission voted unanimously to designate the Dumbo section of Brooklyn as the 90th historic district of the city. This district consists of properties bound by John Street, York Street, Main Street and Bridge Street.
