Guilderland can be described as a town located in county of Albany, New York, US.

The name ‘Guilderland’ officially means ‘Moneyland’ in Dutch. It actually refers to original assumption of Dutch settlers that huge quantity of sand in this region was able to generate an utterly profitable ‘glass’ industry. The other influence with respect to name was province of ‘Gelderland’, in Netherlands.

In the seventeenth century, Guilderland got colonized and formed as a town in the year 1803. At the time of American revolution, this town got divided in to various loyalties.

As per US Census Bureau, total area of Guilderland is 152 sq. Km; out of which 1.31%25 consists of water.

Guilderland receives rainfall of around 36 inches every year. Snowfall of around 63 inches occurs. July and January prove to be the hottest and coolest months; with temperatures of 83 and 13 degree F respectively.

Population according to 2000 census was recorded to be 32688.
