Ithaca town is located on the Southern shore of the Cayuga Lake at the center of the Ithaca-Tompkins County. The town is a horseshoe shaped portion of the Metropolitan area, it perhaps deserves to be even better known for its natural beauty. The Ithaca city is home to the Cornell University.Geographically Ithaca is located at 42º 26’ 36” North and 76º 30’ 0” west.  According to the United States census Bureau, the total area of the Ithaca city is 6.1 square miles, of which 5.5 square miles is land and 0.6 square miles is water.According to the 2007 Census the total population of Ithaca was 29,829 and the population density was 5,473 people per square mile. The people of Ithacans are widely leaning towards peace.Climate of the city has 36 inches of rainfall and 66 inches of snowfall per year. High temperature is around 81 degrees in the summer and during winter the average low temperature is 15 degrees. Humidity during summer is 56 inches.
