Lake Placid is small village having a population of 2,638 in the Adirondack Mountains in Essex County, New York which is near the center of the town of North Elba.
The village is a year- round resort and was known for being the site of the 1980 Winter Olympics. The Lake Placid is located closer to the south end of the Lake Placid and to its immediate is the Mirror Lake that lies between the village and Lake Placid.
This city still hosts a Winter Olympics summer training facility which offers exciting opportunities to watch ski jumping, figure skiing and aerial jumping.
A very fun-loving and charming town especially for the out going, adventurous and spirited travelers along with for the families who wish to escape the hustle and bustle of the city on the weekends.
This village is famous among the people especially for winter sports with both Alpine and Whiteface Mountain located just about 13 miles from the Lake Placid offer skiing, hiking ,mountain biking and one of the few places offering Sleigh rides.
