Lake Placid has many top notch fishing for rainbow trout and lake trout. The Mirror Lake sits right at the village edge and is a fine spot to catch such species of fish. There is also a stretch of the Ausable River which lies within the North Elba boundaries, which attracts scores of fly fishermen per year. there is the Connery Pond too which is a great place to opt for fishing.
