New York in USA has an area of 141,205 sq km. Its capital is Albany, while the approximate population is 18,976,500.
Having the Great Appalachian Valley in the east and Lake Chaplain in the west, the state also includes the Hudson River which flows southward into the Atlantic Ocean.
The culture of New York has been shaped by many years of immigrants. The starting point for many a cultural movement, New York is often called the cultural capital of the country. The Afro-American Harlem Renaissance and the modern dance all gathered momentum in New York. From being the epicentre of Jazz Music in the 1940s, New York was the birthplace of hip-hop and punk rock in the 1970s.
The Bronx Zoo which definitely will make your kids happy, Central Park, The Statue of Lierty, The Metropolitan Museum, A 15-min ride on a helicopter over Manhattan which costs about $165, Times Square, Guggenheim museum which will be enjoyed by adults, Visit the Intrepid Air Space Museum, China Town cannot be afforded to be missed, Little Italy, The Empire State Building, Ground Zero, visit other boroughs of New York like Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, etc.
Well I'm mainly talking about Manhattan here. A very busy vibrant city. Clean and safe. We never saw any dubious characters during our stay. So much history to enjoy, the people are friendly, the food very affordable but predictable. Tourism is high, loop buses provide a highlight with humour hole delivering the very interesting history along the way. Bad point they think Aussies don't know about tipping.
