The West Coast might be known for its beach communities, but the East Coast isn’t lacking for beach towns itself. Lido Beach is a charming beach town in Long Island, New York. It is located in Nassau County between Long Beach and Point Lookout. The neighborhood is quaint in size at just 4.3 square miles, of which 2.5 square miles is beautiful expansive beaches. The town has just under 3,000 residents, but is even more popular as a vacation destination. As a result, the real estate market for condominiums and rental homes is huge in this area.
The beach attraction offers the rare surfing opportunity in Long Island, as well as a more intimate beach experience than at some of the other more popular New York beaches. There is an entrance fee at Lido Beach for non-residents, but the active surf, well-kept sand and close company make the cover charge worth it for the perfect, relaxing day or vacation.
