Central Park covers an area of 843 acres and is situated in the centre of Manhattan. Around 25 million people visit this park annually and it has been used as a location to shoot several movies and TV shows.
The park is landscaped with ponds and lakes giving it a natural look. A number of outdoor activities can be enjoyed here with its 2 ice-skating rinks, a zoo, a wildlife sanctuary, a conservatory garden, natural woods, an amphitheatre called the Delecorte Theater, running and walking tracks and more.
Visitors can enjoy indoor entertainment at the historic Carousel, the Swedish Cottage Marionette theatre and Belvedere Castle.
There is an open air concert which is held here each summer on the great lawn and there are theatre performances and concerts from time to time.
