Greenwich Village is a large residential area in the west of Manhattan town which was once a rural hamlet : it's widely considered as one of the main attractions in New Tork City.

This is the reason that the grid plan and layout of the place does not match with the rest of the city.

Many of the streets here are narrow and are named rather than numbered as compared to the other modern vicinities. The residents of the Greenwich Village have a strong community character and are proud of the fame and history of the place. It is now home to several celebrities and actors.

The Washington Square Park is at the heart of this region along with many other parks and playgrounds.

There are a number of theatres, music clubs and cafes here.

The attractions in Greenwich Village are the Washington Square Park Arch, the Washington Square Park, the Forbes Magazine Galleries and the Union Square.

There are also a number of restaurants, bars, clubs and discos which one can find here along with shopping avenues.
