The Metropolitan Museum of Art is located at 5th avenue, Manhattan in New York City.
The museum holds the largest collections of artistic creations in New York City. Currently, it holds more than 2 million works of art, which vary with the period.
Some of the creations date back to ancient times. A large portion of the collection was created by modern artists.
These creations are divided into 19 curatorial departments. The main building of the museum serves as the largest art gallery in the world. It is known as the Met.
The artifacts and artistic creations include photographs, textiles, modern art, Egyptian art, European creations and arts from Asia, Oceania, Africa and a wide range of consumes.
The Cloisters section holds medieval art. All these creations create an array of art that is collected from different parts of the world. The museum is so large, that one day is not enough to see everything.
