Broadway is a wide avenue which is situated in New York and runs the full length of Manhattan continuing into the Bronx. This is also the oldest north south main thoroughfare in the city and dates back to the first New Amsterdam settlement days. Initially known as the Wickquasgeck Trail, by its Native American inhabitants, this trail was snaked through rocks and swamps along the length of Manhattan Island. This avenue is also the ticker tape parades location and known as the Canyon of Heroes during the events.
