Poughkeepsie city includes all of the Dutches and Orange Countries. It has a total population of 621517 as per the 2000 census. The site of Poughkeepsie was settled prior to 1659 by the Dutchman, Barent Baltus.
Now Poughkeepsie has become the second capital of New York. It is in the Western part of Dutchess Country.
