Queens, the largest city in area and second largest city in population, is located in the easternmost corner of New York, USA. The city was settled in the year 1683. The unincorporated city of Queens is located on the western portion of Long Island. Geographically the city is located at 400 42’15” north and 73055’4” west. The city is located at a height of 50 feet above the sea level. It covers a total area of 178.28 square miles out of which, 109.24 square miles is covered by land and rest 69.04 square miles is covered by water.
As of 2000 census, the city supports a heavy population of 2,270,338 with a population density of 20,409 per square miles. The per capita income for the city is $19,222 which is higher than the average US person. The Queens city is the home to the oldest living entity, a tree named as Queens Giant. It is located in the northeastern part of Queens City. The city has a mixed percentage of all races making it the most happening city in New York.
