Lilac Festival can be described as a music, flora, food, and art festival which is hosted on an annual basis in the first week of May in Rochester. It happens to be the most ancient festival, that too, unique; all over North America. People from across the globe come to attend to this festival. It had, on an informal basis, began in the year 1898. It was when around 3000 individuals came down to this park on a Sunday in the month of May for seeing the lilacs. At present, number of beholders has increased to around 500000. Also, Lilac Festival goes on to play out for around 10 days. Present-day festival begins with parade. Various concerts are hosted during whole of the week.
