Rochester is located in Monroe County which is to the south of Lake Ontario in the United States.
It is at the center of a larger Metropolitan Area which encompasses and extends past Monroe County and includes various counties such as Genesee County, Livingston County and Wayne County.
The city has a total area of 37.1 square miles enclosing a population of approximately 208,000, making it New York's third largest city.
The Rochester metropolitan area is the second largest economy in New York State.
Although Rochester has four distinct seasons, they include cold and snowy winters.
Autumn offers eye-pleasing vistas and summer sees relatively warm temperatures.
It is also known as The Flower City. The city houses many tall buildings and is famous for its food and beverage industry.
Many corporate headquarters for various companies are situated in the Greater Rochester area.
