Saugerties is a town in Ulster County, in the Kingston metro area. This town is very popular for the festival it hosts, and some of the popular festivals are Hudson Valley Garlic Festival in September and the Mum Festival in October. Each of these festivals is very unique in what they offer.It is in the Eastern Standard time zone. The elevation of the city is 217 feet height. The population of the city was 19,868 according to the 2000 census.The city is filled with the aroma of garlic which attracts thousands of peoples to the Cantine memorial field complex. The Saugerties Spring festival is organized by the local government to promote Business, Tourism and Community Pride. This traditional event was created to herald the coming of spring and provide a series of events with activities of interest and enjoyment for all. The celebration of festivals includes many cultural programs, educational exhibitions and craft booths. The garlic farmers are the interesting point of the festival.
