Syracuse University’s main library is the Ernest S Bird Library which opened in 1971. It has seven levels which have more than 2.3 million books, 11,500 periodicals and 45,000 feet of manuscripts and rare books. There is also a café here at the library. Also, there are many departmental libraries on the campus. This library opened to serve the needs of the faculty, junior, senior and graduate students.
