Utica is a city in New York and also the county seat of Oneida County. Situated in the Mohawk Valley, it has a population of around 60,000 inhabitants. Utica is a favoured tourist destination in the country and has widespread parks with winter and summer recreational facilities.
Utica has hot summers with occasional thunderstorms while the winters are cold with regular snowfall. July is the hottest month while December is the coldest and the most pleasant month. A visit to the place in winters gives great joy to the visitors.
Settled in 1758, Utica is said to have been named after the African city of Utica. Once the textile centre of the country, Utica now has an economy which largely relies on the commercial growth and the tourism industry.
