Watkins Glen State Park stands out from the other park in terms of its hiking trail which climbs up the gorge, thereby having passed over as well as under waterfalls. Lower part of the park adjoins the hamlet; whereas upper part seems to be ‘open woodland’. One can refer to Watkins Glen State Park as being in a narrow gorge which is cut via rock by a ‘stream’ which was left ‘hanging’ during deepening of Seneca Valley. Trail remains open from mid-May to 1st week of November.
