Woodstock: Attractions and more...
Browse the shops and eclectic emporiums in Woodstock; visit the art galleries, tour the museum and bike around town. Scenic vistas and babbling brooks meet you around every corner.
Much of the town is on the National Register of Historic Places; the Rockefeller family has deeded 500 acres surrounding Mount Tom to the National Park Service. Woodstock, on the banks of the gentle Ottaquechee River, was first established in 1765.
The town has long been a Mecca for artists, musicians, and writers. Even before the music festival made the name "Woodstock" famous, a separate "Artist's Cemetery" was introduced where film and art festivals attract big names, and hundreds of musicians come to Woodstock to record their songs.
There are a number of art galleries like the Gallery BMG (above), the center for photography at Woodstock. Also, The Woodstock Artist's Association is another historic landmark of this town.
