In both the U.S. State of New York and Westchester County, Yonkers is one of the largest cities with a population of 196,425.
Yonkers borders the New York City region of the Bronx and is 2 miles north of Manhattan.
The Hudson River flows along Yonkers' western border. It has a humid continental climate. The winters are long and cold while the summer climate is cool.
While Yonkers contains many small residential areas and communities, it can be conveniently divided into four quarters.
