A visit to the restored town of Old Salem in Winston will transport you to another time. The Old Salem Toy Museum is a must visit here. Visit the Battleship North Carolina and experience life on the ship as it was during the World War I. Visit the largest estate in the country at the Biltmore Company, Ashville, which allows its guests to enjoy award winning wines at the Biltmore Estate Winery. With several festivals celebrated throughout the state, visitors have a lot to look forward to in North Carolina. An Appalachian Festival is a multi-arts celebration, featuring renowned artists and amateurs alike. The Bele Chere Festival, in Ashville, is the largest free outdoor festival, including stage performances.
