Tourist Guide Boone
Boone is situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains to the western part of North Carolina in USA. It is also a County seat of Watauga County.
This town got its name from Daniel Boone the renowned pioneer and explorer. During 1980s people from New England and Florida came down here and termed it as a second home. The population consists mostly of students due to the establishment of famous Appalachian State University.
A drama is hosted every year during summers, at an outdoor amphitheater to that takes an insight to the life of Daniel Boone. Some of the famous personalities in the field of culture were born in Boone such as late guitarist Michael Houser and Grammy Award winner guitarist Doc Watson.
With a population of 14,473 as per 2006 census, this town is spread with a total area of 15.72km.
Boone experiences a moderate climate during summers but winters are chilly with frequent snowfall.
