Several museums are scattered throughout the city of Charlotte, mainly in and near Uptown. In the coming years, there will be a "museum district" along the southern edge of the city.
Discovery Place is amongst the nation’s most acclaimed children's museums, famous mainly for its science exhibits, though social exhibits are also on display.
