Uptown Charlotte can be described as the region which comprises of township as well as original city with respect to Charlotte, North Carolina. This area has been bounded by Brookshire Freeways and John Belk. Furthermore, it’s broken down in to 4 wards. Out of them, the 1st, 3rd, and 4th wards contain residential areas. Till mid-80s, Uptown was referred to as ‘Downtown’. However, from 14th of February, 1987, Charlotte Observer started making use of term ‘Uptown’ with the objective of promoting positive and upbeat image in relation with ‘center city area’. Secondly, the term ‘Uptown’ signifies intersection of Tryon Street and Trade Street at the highest elevation in the given region.
